How to Avoid Heartburn
1. Avoid foods that are triggering heartburn

2. Stay upright for a few hours after eating
Sitting up to keep food and stomach acid from flowing up into esophagus. It is even better to move about a little to help speed the digestion.
3. Avoid doing exercise right after eating
Intense workouts will slow the digestion, and making reflux more likely. It is better to do exercises a few hours after a meal.
4. Eat smaller meals
To avoid heartburn, six mini-meals a day is better than 3 large meals a day.
5. Reduce taking on caffeine, alcohol, and avoid cigarettes
6. Avoid eating too quickly
It is better to chew slowly and put down fork between bites.
7. Wear loose fitting clothes
Avoid wearing tight belts, waistbands, and pantyhose that constrict the stomach.
