Celiac Disease

Celiac disease is sensitivity or allergy to gluten, a family of proteins mostly found in grains, such as wheat, barley, and rye. Some people who suffered celiac disease also have trouble with oats. It may cause stomach ache, diarrhea, bloating, weight loss, or just a not-so-good feeling.

In celiac disease, the vili is lost or damaged, so that the body does not absorb much of anything. Everything will go rushing through the system, with unpleasant results. When people who suffer celiac disease eliminate gluten from their diet, the vili return and the symptoms go away over time.

The problem is, gluten is everywhere, so that avoiding it can be tough. Gluten can be found in cereal, bread, pasta, cookies, and processed foods. However, more gluten-free products are emerging in the market, and there are also many cookbooks that provide recipes for people who are gluten intolerant.
