Salt Can Be Bad for Children
In the last 20 years, high blood pressure in children has doubled, and this could be caused by too much salt. A study showed that reducing children’s salt intake can lower their blood pressure, which in turn lowers the heart disease risk later in life.
Processed food is a major cause, though it is now easier to find products with lower salt content by checking the label on them. How much salt is considered as too much? Well, a 6 year old should have no more than 3 grams of salt a day.
